Jump Rope for Heart is Coming
February 6, 2012

Registration and Parent Survey information and links are below.

Our school will hold our annual Jump Rope For Heart event during PE classes the week of February 27-March 2. By now, your student should have brought home their Jump Rope For Heart envelope. Please take a moment to read the envelope over carefully with your child and consider helping to raise money for this worthwhile cause. The easiest way to get started is by signing up online and sending emails to family and friends. Please visit: www.heart.org/jump to get started!

The PE team will also be hosting an East Side PE Movie Night on Friday, February 3 from 6:00pm-9:00pm to help raise money for Jump Rope For Heart. The cost is $20 per student and all money will be given to the American Heart Association. And here’s another cool part of this, your student’s Movie Night payment will count towards their Jump Rope For Heart donations. This means they will get to the 2nd gift level (water bottle and jump rope) just by coming to Movie Night. All you have to do is drop off your child and payment at the gym at 6:00pm Friday and enjoy the next 3 hours at dinner, shopping or whatever else you may want to do. The PE team will provide activities, food and drinks and a movie. What a great deal!

Parking For Holiday Parties
December 20, 2011

We know parking will be very limited this week due to classroom holiday parties. Parking is allowed in the Bus Port during the day....ALL cars will have to be moved
out of the bus port by 1:50 PM to allow arrival of our buses.

Another Wonderful Week!
December 19, 2011

We are ready for another great week of school with our wonderful students, staff, and community. Holiday parties are planned for the middle of the week. Remember Thursday is our last day of school before the break.

Parking Information
October 27, 2011

The parking lot/entrances are now complete. The old East Side entrance is now a BUS ONLY Drive...All other vehicles should enter and exit the school via the new entrance (at the intersection of Indian Hills Parkway and Fairfield Drive). No cars should enter the bus drive, this includes ASP parents. Please do not park along the red curb in front of the school. We ask that our parents respect the residents of Indian Hills and refrain from parking along Fairfield Drive.

During carpool in the mornings/afternoons we ask that you do not park in the parking lot and walk your child to the crosswalk in front of the school. Crossing at this point is unsafe due to carpool traffic. The safety of ALL students is our top priority. Parents please remain in the carpool line for drop off and pick up. Students should be dropped off/picked up at the front of the school.

Web Broadcast Announcement
September 12, 2011

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On September 21, 2011 from 3:00PM-4:00PM, State Superintendent of Education, John D. Barge, along with staff in the GA Department of Education Curriculum and Instruction division, will host a web-delivered broadcast through Georgia Public Broadcasting to introduce to all stakeholders the upcoming Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS).

To provide you with a brief history, the state of Georgia, along with 47 other states, has adopted a new set of standards that are geared towards unifying the standards that are used from state to state and enabling students to be college & 21st century workplace and career ready upon graduating from high school.

If you are unable to view the initial broadcast, it will air again from 4:00PM-5:00PM, and then an archived version will appear the following day. Three days later, a closed-caption version of the broadcast will air through the same site. The Web link for the initial broadcast and the archived sessions will be:

http://www.gpb.org/education/common-core

We hope that all stakeholders will find an opportunity to view this broadcast and learn about the future of education, not only in Georgia, but across the United States. Your participation in viewing this broadcast will provide your student with the greatest level of support.
