Please Consider Joining
East Cobb Middle School Council

ecms
East Cobb Middle School (ECMS) has many ways for parents to be involved and welcomes parent participation in students’ academic success. The ECMS PTSA and Foundation have many venues to volunteer. ECMS also has another entity within the school which has the power to change lives and has direct access to the Cobb County School District. The Cobb County School District supports and solicits family involvement in all the district schools.
Established in September 2003, the East Cobb Middle School Council is intended to bring the community and school closer together in the spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision making process. It is a great opportunity for parents and businesses to help in the school’s decision making processes from budgets and expenditures, to class sizes and school improvement plans.
The ECMS Council consists of 3 parents or guardians of students enrolled at ECMS, two parents who are business persons, 3 certified teachers employed at ECMS and the ECMS Principal. The ECMS PTSA and Foundation can also participate in the ECMS Council.
With this strong support, the ECMS Council has the ability to help the school where it is most needed. It is a spirit of cooperation and parents and teachers working together for the betterment of students.
In 2013-2014 the ECMS Council addressed school bus related issues. 2014-2015 the Council worked with the Cobb County Mentoring program to establish a base of mentoring volunteers dedicated to ECMS students.
You can help continue bringing ideas and helping ECMS students achieve their best. Please consider being part of the ECMS Council – volunteer today! The application is available on the ECMS website:
For more information and to be considered for the ECMS Council, please contact ECMS at 770-578-2740.

Get excited!  Tutor Night is being introduced at Chick-fil-A East Lake!  We understand that there are children who may need some extra help, and we wanted to help make a difference.  This "want" sparked the question, "Why not start with the children in our community?"  Lo & behold, Tutor Night

Team members of our Chick-fil-A are volunteering their time to tutor the children on Wednesday nights from 4:30-5:30. Do not hesitate to come in!  We at Chick-fil-A East Lake are passionate about our children growing in our community.  While your child is learning, you could sit down with your family and enjoy a meal.  At the end of the quarter, the children would receive a free Icedream or Kid's meal-- it all depends on the grades.  Please email us at cfaeastlake@gmail.com if your child would like to partake in Tutor Night!

Thank you in advance for your trust in our store to help your children.  Every action taken will cause a positive influence in our community.  Let's make it positive!

Excited to serve you,

Chick-fil-A East Lake Tutors

Come & Sharpen Your Saw
in the Morning with Coach Albert!

sunrise

Sunrise Sharpen the Saw is back! Sunrise Sharpen the Saw is an exercise program that helps students gear up for the academic day. The morning program will be Monday - Friday from 7:20 to 7:50. All classes are scheduled for a certain day of the week; however, I will only take the first 40 students by 7:25. Please encourage your child to participate!

Students perform better academically when they are physically fit.  Student’s brains are kind of like the internet - made up of circuits that handle all information. When you work cardio before class, you turn up the speed of the internet between your ears - your brain :-).
