Our Vision, Mission, and Beliefs

HLES Vision...

Creating rigorous and relevant educational experiences every day for every student.

HLES Mission...

Our mission of Harmony Leland Elementary School is to develop students who are critical thinkers, exhibit positive character, and who have an appreciation of the fine arts.

HLES Beliefs...

  • We believe all children should learn at the highest level of achievement.

  • We believe children should be involved in ongoing, authentic assessment to determine their developmental level.

  • We believe, by addressing various learning styles, students will excel through a wide range of multisensory experiences.

  • We believe our school must be a safe environment that offers diverse learning experiences and enhances creativity.

  • We believe communication is the building block between home, school, and the community.  Communication is an integral part of an effective education.

  • We believe students benefit the most when learning and teaching are a collaborative effort between the school staff, parents, students, and the community.

  • We believe that Character Education promotes core ethical values, which is the basis of good character.

  • We believe, as lifelong learners, that we must embrace the concept of diversity by meeting individual needs and acknowledging cross-cultural communities.  Not in theory...but in practice.
