Loretta Tennison (Click for email)
My name is Loretta Tennison. I was born in Alabama, and grew up in
Mississippi where I graduated from high school, attended Northeast
Mississippi Community College, and met my husband of thirty years, Jerry. We
have two grown children, and one grandson. My son is an officer in the
Marine Corps, and my daughter is a second grade teacher in Cobb County.
In 1989, I graduated from Northeast Louisiana University, with a degree in
Elementary Education. I earned a Language Development Specialist Certificate
at Fresno State University, and I attended Fresno Pacific University where I
began graduate work in Reading. I taught third grade for five years in
California before relocating to Georgia in 1994. One of my proudest
professional accomplishments was the completion of my Master’s Degree in
Early Childhood Education in 2001.
During my thirteen years at Hollydale, I have taught students in fourth and fifth grades. For two years, I was the Instructional Lead Teacher, working with teachers and students in all grade levels. I am currently enjoying my position as an Academic Coach, offering staff development support to teachers and academic support to student in all grade levels.
