Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where can I get a copy of the police report that you requested on me?

The agency that arrested you should have a copy. If they no longer have a copy, ask them to give you a statement, on their stationery, stating that your records have been destroyed.

2. Where can I get a copy of the disposition of my case that you requested?

The courthouse that heard your case will have a copy.

3. Why did I receive a letter stating that I cannot transport students?

Cobb County School District has guidelines to determine whether or not a person is qualified to transport students and/or operate county-owned vehicles. If your Driver’s History did not pass these guidelines, then you were disqualified and cannot transport our students.

** SEE BELOW FOR GUIDELINES

4. My lawyer told me that after I went to court my record would be clean. Why did this arrest show up on my background check?

Sometimes lawyers give bad advice. If you were arrested, that arrest will show up on a background check even if you were acquitted. The only way to have something removed is if you have your record expunged.

5. When should I report an incident to the Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS)?

Anytime an employee is accused of abusing a student, it should be reported to DFACS at 770-528-5000. All educational employees are required to make a report when an accusation is made, whether or not the accusation is believed to be true.
