Consortium (CEC)
Leadership Academy Applicants The Cobb
Education Consortium (CEC) Leadership Academy application and
recommendation form are now online and located on the Human
Resources webpage under Leadership Management. Interested CCSD
employees may complete the online application.

résumé to the Leadership Management Office, Human Resources and give

What is the Cobb Education Consortium
Leadership Academy?
The mission of the Consortium is to combine the resources,
energies, and talents from Chattahoochee Technical College, the Cobb
County School District, Kennesaw State University, Marietta City
Schools, North Metro Technical College, and Southern Polytechnic
State University. Consortium members address areas of common concern
in moving public education in Cobb County from its current level of
excellence to the exemplary levels that are needed to prepare
students to become responsible citizens, capable workers, and
well-rounded human beings. Each of the Cobb institutions complements
the others and is noted for its excellence.
How does this differ from the Cobb County
School District Leadership Academies?
CEC Leadership Academy is not specific to Cobb County School
District (CCSD). Experiences gained in CEC pertain to community and
P-16 experiences (i.e. post-secondary, legislative, etc.).
Why should I get involved in this leadership
academy?
This is an excellent opportunity for educators who aspire to
develop leadership skills, network with dynamic community leaders,
and increase awareness and understanding of local educational
issues.
Does this Leadership Academy “count” as credit
for attending the CCSD Leadership Academy?
No, CEC Leadership Academy and CCSD Leadership Academies are two
distinctly different academies.
When and where will the CEC Leadership Academy
meet?
Academy members will meet once a month during the first year.
The second year is dedicated to completing a service-oriented
project. Meetings will be held at various locations in and around
Cobb County.
What are the eligibility requirements?
a) minimum of three (3) years service in the CCSD;
b) enrolled in or will complete by 8/09 a college/university Leadership
certification program;
c) 3 years of successful experience as a school administrator,
classroom teacher or professional in-field experience for
non-teachers.
