Great Students representing Kell High School....

Congratulations DECA! CONGRATULATIONS DECA....Kudos to Kell DECA Students. Four DECA students traveled to Louisville Kentucky for the International Career Development Conference during the week of April 26th.  Kelly Nelson and Annette Falsetta both competed in Buying and Merchandising. Kelly Taylor and Christina Kandrac wrote a fashion promotion plan for Lucky Jeans. Both groups took a written exam and did a presentation to business executives.

Kelly Taylor and Christina Kandrac placed in the top ten in the Nation.  Over 13,000 students high-level students attend this very rigorous and competitive event! Congratulations Kell Students for being at the top of your game!

Kellrobotics competed in the FIRST Robotics competition in Raleigh N.C. Apr 1-3.  Out of about 50 teams from the SE U.S. including GA, NC, SC, FL, AL, NJ, VA, Kell won the Chairman's Award, the most prestigious award at the event.  It is given to the team that does the most to promote STEM education.  Some of our accomplishments this year include: Starting three other FIRST TEAMS in the area, hosting an FLL robotics competition for middle schoolers of GA., producing videos to make the public aware of marine pollution and its solution, being invited to testify at the House subcommittee on robotics in Washington, and  other accomplishments.

Congrats to FBLA! Advisor Becky Forbes would like to congratulate Jamie Omalacy placing 4th in Introduction to Business along with Kat Birdsall placing 4th in Word Processing II at the Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference.

Kell Computer Programming Team Takes Third Place at GA Tech Competition on February 18, 2010
SCongrats Alice Winners!!!tudents in Kell High School’s career-tech program took home third place for the high school division in a computer programming competition at Georgia Tech! Joey Kopanski, Alex Ronquillo and Brandon Bodem received certificates and prizes for their placement in the event.  This group also took 1st place for the best drama program for all age groups.  Austin Tatum and Coleman Spinks also participated in the competition.  The group also met Wayne Wooten, computer graphic artist for Pixar and Georgia Tech alumni! Wooten discussed his education in computer science and how it led him to Pixar, where he was part of the programming teams for Monsters Inc., Cars, The Incredibles and Toy Story 3. The team is advised by teacher Beth Zullo, who instructs computer science and career-tech courses at Kell.

Last month forty Latin students challenged themselves by taking the National Latin Exam. Twenty-eight of these students were awarded for their excellence, the highest percentage of winners (70%) ever at Kell.
