EOG Milestones

This is a big week with our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students getting to show what they know on the End of Year Georgia Milestones.  Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts and mathematics.  In addition, our fifth grade students will also be assessed in the areas of science, and social studies.  Student performance on the Georgia Milestones provides information to middle schools for placement considerations and serves as a key component of the state’s accountability system – the College and Career Ready Performance Index (Our CCRPI Score).

Testing begins Tuesday.  Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep, has a healthy breakfast and is at school on time.  Some children can feel nervous about testing.  We just ask that you encourage your child to do his/her best!

Classroom Placement for 2018-2019

The Kincaid staff is careful in placing students in classrooms.  To the best of our ability, we create proposed class lists of students by balancing a heterogeneous blend of boys and girls, learning styles, academic performance and work study habits.  We use the individual teacher’s knowledge of every student, and our enrichment teachers, academic support staff, counselors and administrators review the proposed class lists.  I welcome parent input.  If there is information that our staff needs to consider to place your child, please complete the attached School Placement Input Form by May 4, 2018.

**Just a reminder, please do not request a particular teacher by name. If you do, this form will not be honored**

We will use the above information to make the best possible placement for your child.
Due to multiple factors considered in placement, we cannot always guarantee that specific requests can be honored.

Please submit a hard copy of this form to the front office to the attention of Becky Hintz by May 4, 2018.
Due to SPAM filters, email submissions cannot be accepted.

Georgia school and Kincaid Elementary Anticipate Spring

Georgia Walk to School Days

Kincaid Elementary welcomes spring by participating in the 9th Annual Georgia Walk to School Day beginning Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Last October, for National Walk to School Day, we had 60 less cars in the carpool lane.  Let us walk to school and improve the health of our students and the environment!  After this wonderful kick-off event, Kincaid will bring back Walk on Wednesday for spring.   If it is raining or there is an imminent threat, this event will be canceled.

Please note – we are changing our meeting locations in St. Charles Square only:
Corner of Valmont Trace and Snug Harbor at 7:20
Corner of Valmont Trace and Wilkenson Crossing at 7:25
Corner of Valmont Trace and Kincaid Rd. at 7:30
**Students who walk along Sandy Plains Rd or need to cross Sandy Plains Rd must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.**
