Welcome to CCSD Library Media Education!

The following reports are required for all schools.  Please send the completed documents by Friday, May 23rd.  Make sure to keep copies of your reports for your records.

• Destiny End-of-the-Year Checklist - Return by County Mail
  Download, save, and use this checklist/coversheet to prepare your Destiny reports.  You will be able to fill-in most of the information directly on the checklist, however one printed report from Destiny will need to be attached.  The completed checklist with attached report should be sent to Beverly Myers, Library Media Education Department, 440 Glover Street, through the County mail by Friday, May 23rd.
   
• Collection Value Report - Return by Email
  Collection value is reported to the state DOE annually.  Download, save, and fill-in this form to prepare this Destiny report.  You will fill-in all of the information directly on the form and the appropriate calculations will be automatically completed.  Save your completed form and email it to Beverly Myers, Library Media Education Department by Friday, May 23rd.

• High: Ashley Siegel

All the applicants were outstanding, and team members were sad that they could not include everyone who applied!

Zero, zilch, nada, zed, naught--this is a celebration of the schools who have successfully spent their entire library media materials allotments for the 2007-2008 school year and have ZERO remaining!

May 2nd was the deadline to have the media materials allotment fully expended (all POs closed out), so hopefully everyone will become a BIG ZER0 soon!

Proposals for concurrent sessions are now being accepted for fall conferences, including GaETC and COMO.  Cobb library media specialists are some of the most outstanding in the state, and most all of you have one or more innovative parts of your program that others would love to know about!  Click on the links below to learn more about presenting at these conferences.

Applications are now being accepted for next year's Media Leadership Team (MLT), an exciting professional growth experience that gives library media specialists the opportunity to help guide the district library media program and become leaders in the field of library media.  Click here to learn more about MLT and find out how to apply.  The deadline to apply is 8:00 a.m., Monday May 5th.

Remember that 100% of your FY08 Materials Allotment must be encumbered by March 14th.  For more information on spending, see the Selection & Purchasing page.

At the winter meeting on February 20th, CCALMS named the 2008 Cobb Media Specialist of the Year, Jo Zarzeka of Sprayberry High School.  She was chosen from a field of ten outstanding nominees. Congratulations, Jo!

As mentioned at the February 19th Inservice, we will be hosting Destiny Workshops to provide opportunities for media specialists to work with their school's Destiny catalog and patron information.

Don't forget to complete the inservice evaluation.  Library Media Specialists will receive an email with the link to the online evaluation instrument.  It should only take 5 minutes to complete, and it will help us bring you better inservices in the future!
