Media Leadership Team (MLT) Application Information
Calling all library media specialists! If you have a positive attitude, a
willingness to serve your peers, and a desire to help steer the course of
library media education in Cobb, we want you on our team! Media Leadership Team
is a committee of Cobb library media specialists who participate in shared
decision-making and apply their collective wisdom and experience toward the
development of the district library media program. Participation in MLT is also
a great professional growth experience for its members!
Responsibilities of Membership
- Agree to serve a three-year term and attend
monthly meetings during the school year.
- Assist with meeting logistics (i.e., bring
refreshments, take minutes, serve as timekeeper) 2-3
times per year.
- Represent other Cobb library media specialists
(especially those on the same grade level) at MLT
meetings.
- Help make decisions that affect the direction of
library media education in Cobb County Schools.
- Help advance CCSD library media programs by
participating in various activities that are "above
and beyond" the normal call of duty.

Meeting Logistics

Meetings are held during the school day, usually from 8am until
11:30am.

Meeting locations vary, but they are usually held in a location
central to Cobb County.

Substitutes are provided if staff development funds are
available.
Who Should Apply
- All Cobb Library Media specialists are
encouraged to apply, but those who have not
served on MLT in the past year will be given
first consideration.
- Applicants should make sure their
principals support their participation.
(MLT members must be away from school about
1/2 day per month to attend meetings, but
they return to school as stronger, more
knowledgeable library media specialists.)

New members will be selected at the final meeting (May 6, 2008)
and notified shortly thereafter.
