Landon A. Brown, II
Landon Brown is a native of Decatur, Georgia. He attended the public schools of DeKalb County. Believe it or not, there was no middle school in Mr. Brown’s neighborhood growing up. He attended Snapfinger Elementary School (K – 7th) and Towers High School (8th – 12th).
Mr. Brown received his B.S.Ed. in Middle Childhood Education from Georgia State University and his M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University. He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Georgia State University in the department of Educational Policy Studies. His intended graduation date is spring 2010. His proposed dissertation title is "Beating Out Their Own Rhythm: The Impact of Male Step Teams on African American Males Schooling Experiences"
Mr. Brown has served Lindley Middle School for 12 years. He was a math teacher for four years and school administrator for five years. This is Mr. Brown’s third year as a school principal. The Sixth Grade Academy has flourished under his leadership into a model school of excellence. Mr. Brown daily asserts, "Do what you do IN THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE." Mr. Brown is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and 100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc.
