Welcome
Dear parents and students,
Thank you for encouraging your child to join orchestra and enter the superb world of music!
Please click on Mrs. Mejia's SOUND VIBRATIONS site to get more detailed and up to date information on my classes:
Classroom News
During the first two weeks of class students will be introduced to all four instruments and the teacher will help them decide what instrument is their best fit, according to their preference, hand and arm size, and class needs.
Once students know what they will play, a llist of materials and well as several important forms will be sent home. Please also access this information on her blog Sound Vibrations and download and print forms.
Homework
Homework in our class is individual home practice. Some 15-20 minutes daily or at least every other day really goes a long way!
If a students doesn't practice, whether in class or at home, he/she will not make adequate progress.
Along with playing skills, we also work on music theory and notation; it is an important part of all music training. The better the student reads music, the more music he/she will be able to play.
