Vision Statement

Lindley Sixth Grade Academy students will become better equipped scholars with utilizing the necessary tools to become life-long learners, creative thinkers, and responsible individuals. Our scholars will be able to compete globally with other students in higher education, the workforce, personally and socially. Our professional school counselors will assist scholars in achieving a passion to succeed today and in an ever changing global society.


Mission Statement

The mission of Lindley Sixth Grade Academy school counseling program is to provide a safe and supportive environment which addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Our students will become better equipped with the necessary tools to become life-long learners, creative thinkers, and responsible individuals through learning academic skills, career readiness, and self-management skills. Our professional school counselors work diligently with students, faculty, parents, and community to assist our scholars in achieving these goals.



  • The counselors at Lindley 6th Grade Academy believes:
  • Students are our primary focus.
  • All students have dignity and self-worth.
  • All students have the right to participate in the school counseling program.
  • All students should be provided with a safe, nurturing and confidential environment.
  • All students’ ethnic, cultural, racial, gender and special needs are considered in planning and implementing effective school counseling program.
  • All students shall have access to school counselor.
  • School counselors are the advocates for growth and support of every student; ensuring students cohesiveness with the other students, staff members, and families.

Our School Counseling Program

  • is comprehensive
  • is a major part of the school’s educational program
  • utilizes the ASCA national standards as the basis for a guidance/counseling program the supports academic, career and personal/social development
  • uses data to drive guidance activities
  • is used to collaborate with students, educators, families, and community
  • monitors student progress

All School Counselors Will

  • Design a curriculum addressing the needs of all students in the domains of academic, personal/social, and career development.
  • Create positive relationships with students fostering personal growth, service to others and academic achievement.
  • Advocate for all students encouraging them to develop to their fullest potential.
  • Participate in professional development activities essential to maintaining a quality school counseling program.
  • Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by ASCA.
