New Car Rider Pick-up Procedures

In an effort to alleviate the safety issues on Old Mountain Road during the afternoon car rider pick-up in cooperation with Cobb County Police, Lost Mountain Middle School is making several changes to their afternoon car rider pick up protocol.

Starting the week of October 17, 2011, parents will have the option to park their car in the parking lot and collect their student from the theater entrance area. This will require parking in a legal spot, walking across the front driveway to find your student and then escorting the student back across the front driveway. Students MAY NOT walk across the driveway unescorted by a parent.  (see image below)

Parents may still choose to wait in the queue line to pick up their student in the same manner as before with one exception:

Cars may not start the queue line until after 4:00. If you arrive on campus prior to 4:00 you will be required to park in the parking lot, wait for dismissal, walk across the front driveway to find your student and then escort the student back across the front driveway. These measures will hopefully prevent too long of a line building up onto Old Mountain Rd causing a traffic safety issue.
