Mission:
Lovinggood
Middle School’s
counseling program promotes a comprehensive program for all
students, acknowledges individual differences, teaches
academic skills, and encourages career preparedness, and
social responsibility. As student advocates,
counselors assist students in overcoming barriers that
impede learning by promoting an environment that fosters
development of life-long learning, personal responsibility,
and productivity. In collaboration with other staff,
parents or guardians, and community, school counselors
assist students in obtaining the skills and knowledge to
meet the demands of an ever changing world.

Beliefs
-
Students are our highest priority and
a right to a quality education
-
All students have the right to a safe
supportive learning environment
-
All students have the right to be
heard and treated with respect and dignity
-
All students have the right to access
services from a certified school counselor who
collaborates with staff, families, and community as an
advocate for the student.

Planning for Success
The Cobb County School District (CCSD) is
providing this
Advisement Guide to present academic and career
information that students and parents will need throughout
the educational process. Because the CCSD provides a
comprehensive, developmental approach to advising students,
the Guide provides important information including
transitional information for students
-
moving from Elementary to Middle
School
-
moving from Middle to High School
-
moving from High School to
Post-Secondary Education/Career
The Guide also provides links to websites
a student might find useful while considering diploma
options, high school course work, colleges and careers. If
information you seek is not addressed by this Guide or if
you desire to have more information, please contact your
student’s professional school counselor.
