world.
The School counseling Program is here to serve students and families in the following ways:
Classroom Guidance – The Counselor schedules guidance
sessions with all grade levels. This is done in the classroom and is a part of the school curriculum. Topics of instruction include Self Knowledge, Interpersonal Relations, Conflict Resolution, Study Skills, Decision
Making, Career Guidance… and more. Each lesson focuses on LIFE SKILLS that help children achieve skills now and later in life.
Individual Counseling – The Counselor is available to students on a one to one basis if
needed. Students are allowed to schedule an appointment with the Counselor when problems arise. A teacher or parent may ask for the Counselor to talk to a child. Students realize that problems can be resolved if they
are willing to take responsibility for their feelings and actions and move in a positive direction.
Group Counseling – Support groups where students can join with others who have similar problems are offered on a
limited basis.
School Counselors are there for Parents too. Parents can speak with the counselor when students are having academic, emotional or social difficulties. I am here for you and want to be of service in any
way to help insure your child’s success.
