Maximizing Student Achievement

 MABRY FILM FESTIVAL

We invite you to enjoy the iMovies below, created by our students, for the 2009 Annual Mabry Film Festival. This Film Festival was a great success and marked our eighth year of showcasing student's work. Each year we work from a different theme, but always require that students produce work that connects to real world concerns.

This year's theme is Change. We have seen many changes in our world in the last year and we feel this theme is reflective of what is going on in the world around us.  A woman ran for the presidency for the first time and we elected the first African -American President.  We have witnessed a global economy and how our world is truly interconnected.

How each countries action or inaction has positive or negative results in the rest of the world.  We have also seen how this effect happens in the blink of an eye.

So our charge to the students this year was for them to create a movie that reflected change.  This change could be positive or negative, it could have personal, local or global affect, and it had to have value beyond the classroom setting.
