A Message from Nurse Slade

This onslaught of winter weather has certainly taken its toll on us.  Consequently, many of our students have been picked up from school because they are ill.  Please be reminded that if a student is ill and has a fever, diarrhea, or experiences vomiting, he/she must be symptom free for a 24-hour period before returning to school.  Please click here for a quick checklist to help guide you when your child is ill.  Be well!

Parking at McCleskey

No Parking in the Fire Lane” will be enforced starting July 31. At no time can you park your vehicle in the fire lane, except to drop off. If business is to be conducted within the school or area of the drop-off, you will need to move your vehicle to the parking lot.

When picking up the students at the time of dismissal, do not park in the Fire Lane along the school entrance to the Band room until 4:10 pm. You are allowed to park along the driveway from the entrance to the school where the road terminates for teacher parking and enters the parking lot.

A Fire Lane violation is $137 and no warnings will be issued as the signs are posted for the warning.

Showing up for school every day on time has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and in life.

Regular attendance is critical to your child’s success at McCleskey and we encourage you to have your child at school all day every day unless sick. Attendance is also an important component is our CCRPI score. Once a student reaches 6 or more days absent, whether excused or unexcused they do not count for our attendance data in both the CCRPI and the 5 Star Climate Survey. Students who are present less than 65% of their enrollment period have standardized state test scores that do not count for McCleskey on the CCRPI. Please support your child and our school by having your child in attendance each day.

McCleskey appreciates your support in having your child at school all day every day.
