After School Program

The After School Program is available from 2:30-6:00 PM for those students, grades K- 5, who attend Mountain View Elementary and are registered in the program. (You may request a registration form from the office.)

Please remember to be prepared to show identification when you pick your child up from the After School Program.

Registration Fee
An annual registration fee of $10 per child is necessary to fund the initial start-up costs each year (such as forms and supplies) and must be collected at the time the parent registers the child.

Daily Fee
The After School Program is a "Pre-Pay" program of $7 per day/per child. A late charge of $1 per minute/per child will be charged if your child is not picked up by 6:00 PM. Your child will be withdrawn from the program after the third late pick up, per Cobb County School District ASP program rules.

This fee ensures that After School Programs continue to be self supporting, operate efficiently and provide the required teacher to student ratio. The daily tuition pays for all staffing needs, snacks, supplies, and games for the After School Program.

Taxpayer revenues do not fund this program.

Please look for other general rules established by Cobb County on the information sheet you signed when you registered your child for ASP.

Please keep the following information in mind when your child stays in the After School Program.

RESPECT

Students are asked to show respect for others at all times during the school day, as well as in the After School Program.

Please remind your children that it is their responsibility to be respectful towards adults, students, themselves, and the school.

If your child exhibits behavior that is disrespectful to a teacher or student, he or she will be written up. It is important that your child show respect to everyone as he or she would show respect at home.

BEHAVIOR

General rules are set by Cobb County. The rules for the school day apply during after school hours.

Please keep in mind that rules are established to ensure the safety of all children who stay in the After School Program.

Fighting and disrespect will not be tolerated in the program.

Cobb County established a "write-up" policy. A student can be written-up if specific rules are broken. After three "write-ups" your child will be withdrawn from the program.

HOMEWORK

We understand the need for children to have time to complete homework. Therefore, we have set aside an hour at the beginning of ASP for homework. We feel that this should be ample time to complete assignments.

For your child to properly complete his or her homework, the proper materials are needed. Please supply your child with the basic materials (a pencil, paper, etc.) .

Sometimes your child may not have homework or enough to keep him or her busy for the full homework time. Please make sure that your child has a book that he or she can read.

Please let us know if you have any special circumstances that ASP should be aware of.
