Students, Community Cheer On Teachers of the Year at Annual Pep Rally

Teachers of the Year from every school in Cobb and Marietta were welcomed with thunderous applause and cheers from supporters at the annual 'Give Our Schools A Hand' pep rally Oct. 26. Hundreds of students, parents, business and community leaders and School District officials packed the Roswell Street Baptist Church for the rally, which is presented by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. Each Teacher of the Year was individually welcomed on stage and presented with a commemorative plaque and gift bag. Chamber officials also held a prize drawing for the honorees.

Talented student groups provided entertainment, including the Pope High School jazz ensemble and The Company, a Broadway-style performance troup from Pebblebrook High School's Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts.

After the event, the teachers posed for photos with their students and families, before making their way to the Cobb Galleria Centre for a special luncheon in their honor.
