Congratulations
to Campbell High School senior Keru Cai, who was named
STAR Student for the state of Georgia on April 25 by
the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). The
STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) program honors
a top senior from each high school in Georgia, based on his or
her SAT score and class ranking. Keru scored a perfect 2400
score on the SAT. Each STAR student also selects an
influential teacher to be honored alongside them; Keru chose
her Campbell literature teacher, Dr. Anne Blanchard, as her
Georgia PAGE STAR Teacher.
Keru is part of Campbell’s International Baccalaureate magnet
program and balances her academic success with a dynamic and
active music career. She is a member of the Atlanta Youth
Symphony Orchestra and recently performed at the Georgia Music
Hall of Fame. Additionally, Keru was part of Campbell’s Quiz
Bowl team that reached the final rounds of WSB-TV’s High-Q
quiz show. She was also recently included in the ‘Achievers
Spotlight in Georgia Asian Times magazine.
PAGE awarded Keru Cai with a $5,000 scholarship from AT&T
Georgia and Dr. Blanchard with a $2,500 cash award from the
Frances Wood Wilson Foundation. Keru will use her STAR
scholarship this fall when she enrolls at Harvard University
to study history or psychology.
