Director
of Public Safety James Arrowood Named
Cobb Public Safety Employee of the Year
Congratulations
to CCSD Director of Public Safety James Arrowood, who
was named Cobb’s 2007 Public Safety Employee of the Year by
the Cobb Chamber of Commerce! Director Arrowood received the
honor from Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle during the Chamber’s annual
public safety appreciation breakfast at the Cobb Galleria
Centre on Oct. 1. A 35-year law enforcement veteran,
Arrowood joined the school district in 2003 and supervises
more than 40 public safety officers keeping our schools and
facilities secure.
The Chamber cites Director Arrowood’s support of his team
and the safety initiatives he has helped drive during his
tenure with the District. The Chamber calls Arrowood, “an
exemplary member of the community. He is highly respected
for his commitment to maintaining the safest learning
environment for every student in the Cobb County School
District.” The Public Safety Employee of the Year honor is
awarded annually to an outstanding individual within Cobb’s
public safety community, including law enforcement, fire and
emergency response personnel.
The District would like to thank our entire Department of
Public Safety as we celebrate Public Safety Appreciation
Week Oct. 1 – 7. More information about Director Arrowood’s
award is available on the Chamber Web site.
