Board of Education Approves 2008-09, 2009-10 School Year Calendars

The Board approved calendars for the next two school years during its Nov. 14 work session. A summary of the calendars' key dates is below, as are links to printable versions of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 calendars.

First Day of School:
08-09: Monday, Aug. 11, 2008
09-10: Monday, Aug. 10, 2009

Days in Semesters: 88 and 92
Pre-Planning: 5 Staff Days
Labor Day Holiday
Election Day: Monday Student Attendance Day and Tuesday Staff Day
Thanksgiving: Full week
Winter Holidays: Two full weeks
Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
President’s Day: 3-day Weekend: Student Holiday/Staff Day (Monday)
Spring Holidays: Full week

Last Day of School:
08-09: Friday, May 22, 2009 (before Memorial Day on May 25)
09-10: Friday, May 21, 2010 (before Memorial Day on May 31)
Post-Planning: Three Staff Days
