Nine Cobb Schools Recognized for Using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

PBIS Distinction April 2015

Nine Cobb schools have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for supporting a positive school climate using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) frameworks. Proudly displaying the recognition certificates at left are Principals Dr. Jeanne Walker, Tapp Middle; Lisa Jackson, Pine Mountain Middle; Dr. Patricia Alford, Durham Middle, and Kelly McNabb, District PBIS Coach. The recognition system identifies schools that exemplify best practices in their implementation of Tier 1 PBIS. The schools of distinction are recognized at three levels: Operational, Emerging and Installing PBIS Schools/Programs:

Operational
  • Big Shanty Intermediate
  • Hollydale Elementary
  • Russell Elementary
  • Durham Middle
  • Pine Mountain Middle
Emerging
  • Tapp Middle
  • Haven: Hawthorne Center
Installing
  • Floyd Middle
  • Campbell High
