Meet and Mingle with Ms. Meyer

Monday, June 25, 2018

Dear Nickajack Families,

I wanted to reach out and offer you the opportunity to meet and mingle with me, your new principal!  This is a drop-in event taking place Thursday, July 12, from 2 to 4PM in our Learning Commons.  This will give us an opportunity to meet each other before school begins and all those precious faces walk through the door!  I can't wait!

Since being appointed the honor of serving our school and community, I have been working diligently with Mr. Hill and our Assistant Principals.  Mr. Hill and I met for hours over the weekend!  Summer appointments are tough for many reasons, but we are dedicated to making this transition as smooth as possible.  I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the great work that has taken place in the last two years, and the direction and initiatives ready to be implemented this year.  I look forward to working with the B3 Team and NES Teacher Leaders, as well as our Foundation, PTA, and School Council.  Meetings with these entities are in the works!

I am thrilled to be a part of this excellence.  I couldn't be more proud to be a member of a school community where focusing on student achievement and meeting individual student needs are the primary focus.  I am particularly excited about our Dual Language Immersion program, our K-1 multiage classroom, bringing Advanced Content for math in our 4th grade, adding a third full time counselor, and Nickajack's STEAM initiatives.  In addition, I am so impressed with the staff's long-history of dedication to our students with special needs.

Please know most of all, I am looking forward to meeting our students of Nickajack.  The students are our first priority and I know we take this charge very seriously.  I hope you can make it to the
Meet and Mingle on Thursday, July 12, from 2 to 4PM in the NES Learning Commons.  Again, I am honored to be a new member of the Nickajack family and hope that you will embrace me as quickly as I have already embraced you!  I look forward to seeing you soon!
