Important Information: Sibling Transfers 2018-2019

Parents/guardians of a student who has a sibling already enrolled in a District school through an approved transfer may apply for a younger sibling to attend the same school in accordance with District Administrative Rule JBCD-R. This provision attempts to address siblings enrolled in different schools at the same time due to an approved transfer. A sibling is defined as a brother, sister, step-brother, or step-sister living in the same household and who otherwise meets the requirements for enrollment.
The application window for the 2018-2019 school year will be open from January 4, 2018 through January 31, 2018.

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the Internet, please contact the school's counselors for scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating (part of Nickajack's CCRPI score). Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

We will continue to assess and evaluate our security policies and procedures and to make any adjustments necessary to ensure the safety of our students.

 2017-2018

Nickajack has added two 1st grade classes to our Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion program!  Last year's Kindergartners will move up to 1st grade and we will welcome our second group of Kindergarten students to the program.  This unique model provides instruction and support for students in learning both languages.  Students will split their day between instruction in Spanish and English.

  • We will continue to grow this program each year through Grade 5.

  • We will instill cultural competence and enhance communication among our students and community.

  • Our vision and mission is to develop and honor the greatness in everyone and help every child to become a leader.

  • Our Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion program will help students to become bi-lingual and bi-literate in an ever changing world.
