Osborne High School Volunteer Tax Center

Partnering with the Internal Revenue Service and the United Way of Greater Atlanta, Osborne students and staff provide free income tax assistance to members of the community. Over the past seven years, over 1300 taxpayers were assisted, resulting in thousands in refunds while saving taxpayers preparation fees. 



The Osborne Tax Center has begun scheduling appointments as of January 28. The center will be open beginning Monday, February 3. Appointment times are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The center is closed on all school holidays.

VITA Program Information

FREE tax preparation if your household income was $55,000 or less in 2018. 

  • Don't pay for filing, loans, or rapid refund

  • 1040's prepared FREE 


You may be eligible for: 

  • Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) up to $6,431 

  • Child tax credit up to $2,000 per child 


Please bring the following documents to your appointment:  

  • Proof of identification (photo ID) 

  • Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents  

  • An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse and your dependents if you do not have a Social Security number 

  • Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN 

  • Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return 

  • Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers 

  • Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099) 

  • All Forms 1095, Health Insurance Statements 

  • Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received 

  • Forms 1095-A, B or C, Affordable Health Care Statements 

  • A copy of last year's federal and state returns, if available 

  • Bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check 

  • Daycare information - total paid to provider, provider's tax ID number (EIN or SSN) 

  • Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable 

Failure to bring certain documents can prohibit or delay the preparation of your return, so please check before you come to your appointment. 


Please note: To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms
