Book Exchange

Fourth Grade students visit the Library occasionally as a full class for book exchange and are encouraged to come to the Library on their own with the permission of their teacher.  Sope Creek Elementary participates in the Georgia Book Award program every year, and offers the novel nominee list for the 4th and 5th grade students.

Research & Library Skills

Fourth grade students visit the Library at the point of need, utilizing Reference, non-fiction, and online resources to solve their information problems.

Mrs. Schultz-Suggs led some of the 4th grade classes on a Voyage of Discovery, while one class created travel brochures to encourage people to Come to the Colonies!

Bibliographic Format & Copyright

Fourth graders are capable of being responsible and ethical users of information.  Part of this responsibility is giving credit where credit is due.  Cobb County schools use the MLA style as the basis for all format and citation questions.

Using the MLA format as a guide, Sope Creek uses a modified version for each grade level.  Click here to view the fourth grade bibliographic format template.
