Grading
I use the point system; we will top out over 3000 points at the end of the semester. Every assignment will receive a grade. A basic homework assignment is worth 5 points if (a) it was done outside of class and (b) it makes it to class on the day assigned. I don’t accept late homework. Quizzes will be worth 1 point per question; tests will be worth 2. Formal compositions are worth 100 points. Students may turn them in late at a penalty of 20% per day as per English Dept. policy. My grade profile is usually half A’s, half B’s, with a handful of lower grades. I update grades every week. Parents can view children’s grades on I-Parent, and I will be happy to e-mail parents at home or at work if they will respond every time to acknowledge that they have received them. update. |
