  To promote goodwill between 9th graders and upperclassmen.  To provide 9th graders with a mentor to assist with transition into high school.
Mission
  Attend 9th grade homerooms weekly and conduct activities for assimilation into high school.

CRIME DAWGZ Sponsor : Erika Kitchens

  A co-curricular organization providing security services for the faculty, staff, and students of Pope High School, while offering real world training experiences for students enrolled in public safety courses.
Mission
  Actively participate in the evacuation of fire drills, Secure Parking Lots at Football Games, Security Gates at Athletic Events, Assist During Pep-Rallies, Assist Administration with Security Requests as needed, as well as, Assist Law Enforcement Charity Groups such as Atlanta Defenders.
Activities
  Open to all Students in All Grade Levels.  Similar to an Explorer Program set up with Chief, Deputy Chief, Lt. Sgt. and Officers.  (Students do not have to be enrolled in Public Safety Course)

DRUMMING CLUB Sponsor :  Jeff Wheeler
   
  To foster students’ interest and skills in the art of playing the drum set.
Mission
  Playing the drums in a supportive, relaxed environment.
Activities
  Open to all students, especially those with moderate, little, or no experience playing a drum set.  Highly experienced drummers are politely discouraged (although not excluded) from joining.  However, drummers on the drum who lack experience on a drum set are welcomed.

  Give interested Pope students opportunity to become familiar with or continue skill development in the sport of Fencing as outlined by the Georgia High School Fencing League (club sport for SY 08-09)

  Fencing instruction and practice, opportunity for complete in the Ga. High School Fencing League tournaments

  Open to all students who pay dues, procure equipment and meet behavioral and attendance requirements
Members Student officers elected every fall, active parental support for transportation to Saturday tournaments

  To make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. 
Mission
  Multiple FFA CDE competitions locally and statewide, region rally, community service activities, State Convention, National Convention, 4-5 FFA Plant Sales, leadership trainings, FFA floral design team, FFA Nursery Landscape Team, FFA Floriculture Team, Public Speaking CDE, end of year awards banquet, environmental projects, newsletter, t-shirts, hands on activities to promote horticulture careers.

Habitat for Humanity

  To help eliminate poverty housing by raising money to partially sponsor the building of a Habitat house in Cobb County.  To increase awareness in young people of homelessness and poverty and therefore increase their interest in seeking solutions to these problems.

  Pope Habitat annually participates in the East Cobb Festival, Make a Difference Day, the Cobb Habitat Homeowners Holiday Party, and the building of a house each spring

  Open to all students.  Officers are appointed in the Spring by the sponsors.  The Board is open to any member who wants to be a part of the leadership.  Current membership is at 300 members

  The Interact Club is a service club sponsored by Rotary International with a mission to help both locally and internationally.
Mission
  Service projects vary but usually include Adopt-A-Mile, Parent’s Night Out Fundraiser for international project, bingo with the elderly, Nike-ReUse a Shoe, collections and feeding the homeless.

  To help black male students seen their self-worth and help guide them in making good decisions about careers, college, goal setting, volunteering, relationships, etc.

  Students will participate in volunteer activities, learn about setting goals, interview skills, ediquet, resume building, college information, building relationships and talking about careers with job shadowing

MOCK TRIAL Sponsors :  Ms. Levin and Ms. Lister
   
  To study aspects of the legal profession specifically related to civil and criminal trial and foster interest in the legal profession.
Mission
  Training for local, regional and state competitions 
Activities Analysis of case situations and practice involving rules of evidence and objections
  Open to all students, with 14 final trial competitors.  Students may stand in as alternates to witnesses or attorneys if necessary.  Students interested in the law, drama or public speaking.

  To be determined each year by the attending interested parties; however, assisting attorneys have input as they lead in the training of the team.

  Academic simulation of United Nations which educates participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy

  Two day conference at KSU where students take on the role of foreign diplomats. Students research their country’s position on issues, write position papers and participate in the conference.

Mission Inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school.  
  Peer tutoring every Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.  Each member must complete 6 tutoring times.

  Open to students who have completed Alg 2 with at least a B average in all math classes.
