Behavior Management

TOKEN BEHAVIOR

Students receive colored tokens when they are “caught being good”. They can accumulate these tokens to use towards rewards. The students may use their tokens like cash at The Token Store.  It will be open for business before school begins usually on Friday mornings.  Students may purchase merchandise at the store to keep.         (I count on parents to help provide some of the goodies!)

STAR BEHAVIOR

While emphasis is placed on positive reinforcement of desired school behaviors, students may need correction for displaying inappropriate behavior. In this event, the student will  receive a warning and their name will be moved from the green star on our STAR BEHAVIOR chart to the blue star. If inappropriate behavior continues following the warning, the student’s name will be moved to the yellow star, a note will be made on the student’s Weekly Report and the student will have a five minute time-out at Fun Friday to reflect on his or her behavior. The student’s name moves to the orange and then red star if poor classroom behavior continues to be a problem.  See the chart below for details.

Yellow Star

WEEKLY REPORTS

Weekly Reports are sent home each Thursday in your child’s Thursday Folder.  These reports are my primary means of communication to you regarding your child’s classroom behavior. They need to be signed and returned on Friday.
