DAILY FOLDER

Students will bring home one folder daily. This folder will contain flyers from school and PTA, newsletters and any personal communication from the teacher regarding your child.  From home you may use this folder to send in payment envelopes, notes, or return forms to the school. The Daily Folder should be returned to school daily!      

 

 

THURSDAY FOLDER

Your student’s weekly work will be sent home in this folder.  The left pocket of the folder will contain your student’s weekly report and graded papers needing your signature.  These papers should be signed and placed back inside the folder.  The papers in the right pocket you may keep.

The Thursday Folder should be returned to school on Friday morning along with your child’s weekly report.

 

 

WEEKLY REPORT

Each Thursday you will receive a report on your child for the week.  This will help keep you updated on areas that your child needs to be working on socially or academically.   The Weekly Report will be sent home in the Thursday Folder. Please go over it with your child, then sign it and place it back inside the folder to be returned to school the following day.

PLEASE NOTE... This is my primary line of communication with parents.  It is important that this report be signed and returned as soon as possible.

 

 

REPORT CARDS

There will be 4 reports cards sent home with students this year.  Students will receive grades in Reading, Writing, Spelling and Math.  Students are also evaluated in Science, Social Studies,  Health, PE, Art, Music, Behavior and Study Skills.

 

 

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent-Teacher Conference days are scheduled in January by the Cobb County School District.  However, do not hesitate to contact your teacher to schedule a conference if you have a concern regarding your child that you would like to discuss.

 

 

WEBSITE, NEWSLETTER, AND BLOG

At our school web site parents and students can find lots of general information including upcoming events, lunch menus and student links.  The First Grade page has some links that are especially for our first graders and their parents.

The school newsletter will keep you posted on upcoming events from the PTA and will also contain information from the school staff.

The class newsletter will be sent home each month in your student's Daily Folder. The class blog will be updated periodically and keep parents informed about upcoming events and activities.
