The first light of the Frey Flame !

Our kindergarten day is enriched with many different experiences for our students. Mornings begin with calendar time. Calendar instruction is based on our county-adopted series Everyday Counts.  Math centers and/or activities help your child investigate and explore math concepts from the NCTM Standards. Activities are directly linked to our calendar time.

Students are actively involved during developmental centers. These centers are curriculum-driven and may be theme-related. These are some of the centers that you might find in your child's classroom.

Literacy centers also excite young readers. During this time students choose centers that enhance and enrich language arts. The teacher will be working with small groups and/or guided reading groups.  Literacy centers also include activities in developing phonemic awareness, spelling, and writing concepts.  These are some of the literacy centers that you might find in your child's classroom.

Social Studies, Science, and Health are integrated throughout centers and whole group lessons.  The computer lab, nature trail, and science lab will be used to support our curriculum.  Field trips as well as in-school field trips are planned throughout the year to enrich our curriculum.
