Band Director Recognized Nationally
Patrick Erwin was recognized by the National Association of
Music Educators while attending the Bands of America
Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana over the weekend. Mr.
Erwin was the recipient of the George N. Parks Award for
Leadership in Music Education. The award recognizes music
educators who are the embodiment of leadership, collaboration,
perseverance, and enthusiasm for their craft. Mr. Erwin is the
recipient this year, chosen from hundreds of candidates. Mr.
Erwin works tirelessly to support his students, collaborates and
works closely with our Hillgrove staff, and also regularly
supports activities and events within the Cobb School District
and Hillgrove community. Mr. Erwin is "deliberately successful"
and we are indeed proud of him. Please join us in congratulating
him on this national award.

Hillgrove Habitat for Humanity!
The Hillgrove Habitat Club is now
collecting BoxTops for Education. Each BoxTop is worth 10
cents! These dimes will add up to help us reach our goal
for our Habitat for Humanity house build in February!!
Yep, the high schools of Cobb County raise all the money and
build a house for someone! Drop your BoxTops off at the

Hillgrove Career Expo March 8 from 7-9pm,
Hillgrove gym. We need input from students! Please

A Busy Weekend for the Grove
This past weekend, several Hillgrove teams and organizations
were in action around the county and state. Here is a
brief run down of the action:
swimmers qualified for the county and state swim meet thanks
to their qualifying times over the weekend.
Cheerleading team took 5th place at the GHSA State
Cheerleading Championship on Saturday.
The boys and
girls basketball team got their seasons off to a great
start, both winning their season openers.
Team took several top 10 finishes in the regional meet held
in Augusta. The Fighting Hawks qualified for the Sweet-16
athletes signed their letters of intent last week.
Congratulations to Kathryn Jackson (softball - Samford
University), Taylor Decelles (softball - Samford
University), and Carlee Dykes (soccer - Wesleyan College)
