Schools Earn Placement In Cobb's Advanced Placement
Certified Schools
Program. Eleven high schools have met the
required criteria for inclusion in the District's Advanced
Placement Certified
Schools (APCS) Program. The APCS program began in 2004 as a means of making
challenging honors and AP classes
accessible to
more students and support high achievement in the course work. Hillgrove High School was awarded the
Affiliate

-We will
have a lottery for the 35 additional yearbooks. Students may come to
room 2317 beginning on Tuesday, May 6th to enter the lottery.
If the student wins a book, payment of $100 must be received by May
13th. Winners of the lottery will be announced on Friday, May 9th.
If a winner does not pay for the book by May 13th, another name will
be drawn.

Ceremony for Class of 2008

May 23......Hillgrove High School Graduation
Commencement
-Commencement (Graduation) for the Class of 2008 will be held at
7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008, in the
Hillgrove Football
Stadium. If it rains, graduation will be on Saturday at 8:00 am in
the gymnasium. Detailed information
about the Commencement,
including rehearsal dates/times and tickets, will be provided on or
around February 1, 2008.
Finals Survival Kits
-"Relieve the stress of finals for your student by
purchasing a Finals Survival Kit. Kits are $5 and include
bottled water, pencils,
pen, snacks and a note of encouragement from
you! Send in your order form and payment to the front office by
Monday, May 5.
Please make checks payable to the Hillgrove Academic
Booster Club. The kit will be delivered to your student on the
first day of finals."

June 2-5...Hillgrove Wrestling
Summer Camp (Grade 1st-upcoming high school freshmen)
-Time:
6-8 pm in the Hillgrove main gym
-Cost: $60 per wrestler (Please make checks payable to Hillgrove
Wrestling)
-The camp is designed to help beginning
wrestlers as well as wrestlers with experience. We will concentrate
on offense
and defense from the neutral, top, and bottom positions.

2009 SPLOST
III...Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax
-Schools
anticipate the Board to act on SPLOST III in their May meeting and
any input from faculty and
community will be valuable. Click on the following link,

items to be completed in a proposed SPLOST III. Cobb County
School District has also setup a website
to help the community with SPLOST III proposal, at the
Cobb County SPLOST III
website.
After School Tutorial Program
-Hillgrove's After School Tutorial Program has started.
Students need to download the ATP form and
turn it in on the first day of tutoring.
Teachers will be working
with groups of students in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social
Studies.
Grove Gear
Hillgrove's school spirit wear store, will be open on
Tuesday and Friday mornings before school from 8-9 a.m. and
on Fridays during lunch
in the cafeteria. Show your school spirit

eHigh School
-Summer registration for Cobb’s eHigh School begins
Monday, May 5th for all students through Monday, May 19th
at 4 PM. Students and
parents can view course offerings and register for spring session
online by going to
www.cobbk12ehighschool.org Summer session runs
from Tuesday, May 27th through Wednesday, July 9th. with exams being
July 7- 8, 2008. Students taking courses through eHS may access
their courses anywhere internet service is available. For more
