Dress Code
Modesty and decency of dress is stressed at Kell High School.
There is a direct relationship between dress, grooming, conduct,
and success in school. Students are expected to dress and groom
themselves with formality of school in mind. Clothing that disrupts
the educational process is unacceptable. Bare midriffs; tight, sheer,
revealing clothes; and tank tops are not permitted. Students will
not be permitted to wear clothing with imprints or writing that
is suggestive or immoral or portrays illegal actions or clothing
that endorses violations of policy.
Girls - Skirts/Dresses/Tops/Pants Only
1. SKIRTS and DRESSES must reach the top of the knee. Students
should measure the skirt before coming to school and be sure that
it is of proper length when standing or walking. Backless or strapless
dresses or shirts are NOT permitted. Slits may be no shorter than
three (3) inches above the knee.
2. TOPS may have sleeves or be sleeveless. No skin may show at the
waist. No low-cut necklines. Regardless of the type of top, the
area from the neck to the shoulder must be covered. No tank tops.
Boys - Pants/Shirts Only
1. SHORTS/PANTS must always be on the waist (no sagging or bagging).
Pants must fit, no oversize. Pants cannot cover the shoes.
2. SHIRTS must have sleeves and may not be excessively long.
All Students
1. HEADGEAR - No head coverings, no hats, no caps, and no headbands
on campus, subject to immediate confiscation and non-return. At
the principal’s discretion, based on weather or certain school
days, headgear may be allowed.
2. PANTS/SHORTS must reach the top of the knee. No excessive slits.
No spandex or sleepwear/loungewear type garments are permitted.
3. No house/bedroom shoes
4. No garments with holes/tears
