You and two of your classmates are about to begin an amazing adventure through our solar system. Obviously, you will be gone a long time, so your family and friends will miss you. You will need to keep in touch by sending postcards from the sun and each of the planets you visit. There will be many exciting and unusual things you will see during this adventure.
You and two of your friends will have to design a postcard from each place you visit. The postcards should include three unique features of each planet or the sun. It should also include a uniquely designed stamp which is relevant to the planet you are visiting or the sun. Also, the addressee should have an address which relates to the planet or sun being visited. (See examples posted around the classroom.) At the end you will post your postcards on a bulletin board paper strip in correct order from the sun to the last planet, including Pluto as a dwarf planet.
You will need to divide the work among your fellow travelers so each of you does a fair share of the work. You will be given a data sheet on which to gather all your data about the sun and the planets, or you can download it here.
Each member will be responsible for his/her own part of the project. This will mean you will not receive a group grade for this, but an individual grade for completing the part for which you are responsible. Be sure you list which person is responsible for which planet/sun.
You are then to create postcards on 5x7 index cards for each location you visit, decorating them with appropriate graphics for the sun/planets.

You've finally returned to Earth after a wonderful trip. Home Sweet Home!!! Now you know why this is the only place you'd really be able to live. Congratulations on your safe return!
