Dear Band Parent,

    Each year, the Dodgen 8th grade band sends a representative group to provide music for our community at the East Side Elementary School Fall Festival. This year the event is scheduled to take place on October 4, 2008.  Students will wear their Official Band Shirt along with long pants (jeans) and comfortable shoes. Solid black pants and dress shoes are only required for our evening concerts at Dodgen and for GMEA performance events.

    For the East Side performance, students will need to report at 11:15 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the media center at East Side Elementary School and will need to report with their band instrument and music in hand. This means students must not forget their instrument by leaving needed material and equipment at Dodgen after school on Friday. We will present our  performance from 12:00 PM  to 12:30 PM.  This performance time may vary within 30 minutes earlier or later depending on the final schedule set by the East Side organizing chairman. Students will be dismissed to the care of parents immediately following the performance. Since many of our band students have younger siblings attending  East Side, some may wish to stay for other events. However, I will need to know that the parent is present to receive their band student at the conclusion of our performance.

I understand that I must provide transportation for my child to and from this event. I also understand, for safety reasons, that I must personally report to receive my child at the conclusion of the performance or send a signed note indicating who will be authorized to drive my child home.
