Jazz Evaluation Final Information

I just received the final information regarding our jazz evaluation performance on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Walton
High School. We will be walking across the street from Dodgen to Walton. In case of rain, we will need a
few volunteer drivers lined up. Our scheduled time will occur during school hours, so your child will go
home by bus or car, as they normally do. We are very fortunate to have this event in our neighborhood -- all
parents are invited and encouraged to attend! For students that would like to return with their parents to hear
more advanced high school groups, they will be playing from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Dress for the evaluation is the Dodgen band uniform: Black pants, the Dodgen Band shirt, and dress shoes.
Students will have a few minutes to change before we leave.

With only two rehearsals left before the evaluation, attendance is absolutely critical!

Schedule for Friday May 1st:

TIME TBA-All Jazz Band students retrieve instruments from band room and report to Theatre. Change clothes if necessary. Eat a snack if desired.
TIME TBA-Walk across the street to Walton
TIME TBA- Begin warm-up
TIME TBA-Performance on stage of Walton theater.
TIME TBA-Put away instruments; return to theater to hear Durham and Tapp perform.
TIME TBA-Eat lunch at Jazz Festival concession area. Last year it was Chik-Fil-A. Bring a sack lunch if you prefer.
TIME TBA-Walk back to Dodgen.
TIME TBA-Return to 5th period class.

Thanks again for the opportunity to work with your children. They are playing wonderfully, and will represent our school well!
