Solo and Ensemble Registration Form
Deadline August 29, 2008
My child, (please print clearly) _________________________________________, has permission to
participate in the GMEA Solo and
Ensemble Performance Evaluation on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Pine Mountain
Middle School in Cobb County. I understand that it is the student’s
responsibility to secure an accompanist for solo performances. I
understand that no applications can be accepted after Friday, August 29, 2008.
My child will participate in the events checked below.
You must secure an accompanist for all solo performances. If not, then the final
score will be lowered one full division rating. This happens to students every
year, especially those preparing with a private instructor who may not be
familiar with GMEA guidelines. Students must remind their private instructor of
this GMEA policy. If the student is using a recorded accompaniment (CD or
cassette tape), then the student is responsible for bringing the necessary
equipment to play the recording.
Students must contact an accompanist to discuss rehearsal and performance fees
prior to the GMEA evaluation date. All fees are the responsibility of the
student and are to be paid to the accompanist at the beginning of each rehearsal
and at the performance. If we are to maintain an active list of professional
accompanists for our students, we must respect the timely reimbursement for
their services. Thank you!
Students may enter a maximum of three events. If your
child is in a morning ensemble, then that group will count as Ensemble Entry #1.
However, the participation fee for morning ensemble participants is covered
through Band funds. Please contact me at
