Each year the Walton Band invites all 8th grade band students to join them for an evening of fun and music while performing at a home football game. This is a great opportunity for all students and will help many make that final decision whether or not they wish to participate in band at the high school level. There are many students in the Dodgen 8th grade band who will be attending Walton next year. It is our hope and goal that all will participate. Students will need to be dropped off at the flag pole in Walton’s front parking lot between 5:30 PM and 5:45 PM. Parents will need to pick up students by 10:00 PM. Please understand, for safety reasons, we will not dismiss an unsupervised middle school band student into the crowd to hunt for parents. Parents must report to the band seating area to pick up students and must check with Dr. Jackson or Mr. Jeffres BEFORE leaving the area. The band seating area will be easy to find. It is the spot where you will see 400 students, yelling and screaming, while waving a wide assortment of musical instruments in the air. The Dodgen band students will wear their Official Band Shirt for this event. They may wear jeans or other appropriate long pants and comfortable shoes. This should be fun evening and we hope you will join us!

I understand that I must provide transportation for my child to and from this event. I also understand, for safety reasons, that I must personally report to the band seating area at 10:00 PM to take my child home or send a signed note indicating who will be authorized to drive my child home.
