  • Question:  What if I have been absent from school?
  • Answer:  A student returning to school must bring a written parental explanation to be given to his/her teacher. If ill for more than two days, a student may request assignments through the school office. Be sure to ask your teacher for make-up work upon your return to school. We offer the Phone Master system for checking homework and make-up work assignments. The number is 770-528-5810 ext. 5810. Students or parents may call the pod hotline number after 6:00p.m. each day to get assignments. Assignments must be made up in a timely manner. Students should complete assignments within a number of days equal to the length of the absence. For example, a student will have two days after returning to school to make up work missed during a two-day absence. It is the students' responsibility to complete and turn in work missed due to an absence. After two weeks of illness, a student may receive tutoring from the hospital-homebound teacher. A request for this help needs to be made to the counselor as soon as you know you will be out for an extended time. A computer generated phone call will be made daily to inform parents when students are absent. Parents are requested to call the school if there are questions concerning the automated calling system regarding their student.
