Dear Parents and students,
I hope this letter finds everyone in good health and happy with Pope
High Schools' service to you and your family.
With the first semester well underway, I am extremely pleased
with the work of our faculty, students, and community. The start
of the school
year has been a huge success as our students are already showing great
promise.
I would like to offer the following suggestions to aid in the adjustment
to the new schedule:
-
Be sure to get an early start and not wait until the last minute to
drop off students on Thursdays.
I apologize for the lack of preparation the first couple of weeks
and any resulting delays.
-
Encourage your child to use AO periods on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday to study, do homework,
or get extra help from teachers.
-
Encourage your child to take advantage of the longer lunch periods
to also catch up or study.
The media center is available during all lunch periods.
-
Encourage your child to
use his/her study time wisely on Thursday mornings before school.
In all, the students have done a fantastic job of adjusting to the new
schedule. I have received a lot of positive feedback from
students. Also, our staff is doing a great job with adjustments as
we encounter unforeseen obstacles.
In closing, Pope High School's faculty and staff are dedicated to
providing our students with a variety of experiences that will help
them find their passion and to lay a foundation for a successful future.
Excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, and
service & leadership are and will continue to be the core of our beliefs
here at Pope. Please take every opportunity provided and let's
make the 2009-2010 school year one to remember.
Sincerely,
Rick Beaulieu
