Science Olympiad
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
consists of a team of students who enjoy scientific problem
solving.
Activities range from hands-on labs to building projects
ahead of time (cars, bottle rockets, catapults,
Rube-Goldberg machine, etc.), to testing your knowledge in a
specific subject, like anatomy, geology, astronomy or
scientific process. We prepare together in weekly
meetings (some extra time is required at home to be
successful) and compete as a team. Last year we went
all the way to the State competition in Augusta. This
year... who knows? All you need is enthusiasm,
self-motivation and a love of science. The success of the Simpson Team in competition with other
schools would be enhanced with participation of parent
volunteers at our weekly practices.
Parent volunteers are still needed.
