Mr. Shannon Hooker, Assistant Principal

Dear Parents,

It is my distinct honor to serve as your assistant principal of Sedalia Park Elementary School. I am excited to begin working with the students, staff, and community of this distinguished school. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege to serve as an assistant principal of both Bells Ferry and Nickajack Elementary School. Before moving into the realm of educational leadership, I taught in the Cobb County School District, Atlanta City Schools, Milwaukee Public Schools, and Minneapolis Public Schools.

I originate from the great state of Wisconsin and I am a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. If your child(ren) doesn’t know about the Green Bay Packers, I guarantee they will before the end of the year.  Most of my family reside in Wisconsin, and I visit every opportunity that I get. Some of my favorite activities that I like to do in my downtime include; attending sporting events, travel, and reading about current events.

It is my desire to work closely with the students, staff, and community to continue the great things that have been established at Sedalia Park Elementary School. I am committed in ensuring that the students at Sedalia Park continue to achieve academically and become upstanding leaders in their field of choice.

Again, I would like to thank you for affording me this wonderful opportunity!

Mr. Aunquize Perkins, School Leadership Intern

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself as your School Leadership Intern! I am very passionate about creating experiences that can be remembered for a lifetime. Together, I believe we can achieve anything we put our minds to.   I’m looking forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders at Sedalia Park Elementary School.  We are destined to have a great 2018-2019 school year!

My educational career has been spent in grades K-6th in the following capacities; 3rd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, K-6th LD-R, 4th/5th Cross Categorical. My most recent assignments were at Sanders Elementary School where I served as a 4th grade teacher, 4th grade team lead, and most recently as a 2nd grade IRR teacher & PBIS coach. Prior to moving to Georgia, I taught six years in South Carolina.

My educational background includes a B.S. in Elementary Education, M. Ed in Learning Disabilities from Francis Marion University, and an Ed. S in Educational Administration from South Carolina State University.  Every year is an opportunity to grow and I’m a lifelong learner.

In my spare time, I love to travel, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends! I’m looking forward to serving you!

Ms. Courtney Hardy, Student Services Administrator

I am entering my first year at Sedalia Park Elementary School and I am thrilled to join this amazing staff and community. This is my 4th year in the Student Services Administrator Position and my 6th year in special education district leadership. I have previously served at Shallowford Falls Elementary School and Palmer Middle School. This year I additionally work with East Side Elementary School.

Prior to serving in an administrative role I taught as a special education teacher in a variety of roles and schools around the district as well as in Henry County. My experience is unique in that it is evenly split between elementary school and middle school.

I attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and earned an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in school social work. I earned an additional Master’s degree in Behavior and Learning Disabilities from Georgia State University. Recently I graduated with a Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology from KSU and went on to earn an additional add-on in Educational Leadership.

I live on the Marietta Square with my husband Brandon and my two children Paxton and Adrienne. We additionally have a ridiculously spoiled rescue dog Ellie.

I look forward to a great year at Sedalia Park! Please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time. As I am split between two schools this year, email is typically quickest way to reach me:
