Cobb County School District's
TSS ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM

The Teacher Support Specialist (TSS) Endorsement Program is an advanced, year-long professional development program provided to highly-qualified, master teachers who have been recommended by their schools and/or supervisors.

The mentor teacher training is built upon the framework and components of effective teaching (Enhancing Professional Practice, by Charlotte Danielson), and focuses on classroom observation & feedback, coaching, modeling, and reflective practice.  This program prepares educators to work effectively with beginning teachers during the Induction Phase of their careers.

The TSS Program begins with an initial 30-hour Preparation Phase offered over one-week in the summer, followed by the Internship Phase in which the participant mentors a beginning teacher throughout the 2009-2010 school year and attends 10 monthly support classes.
