Sibling Transfers

Parents/guardians of a student who has a sibling already enrolled in a District school through an approved transfer may apply for a younger sibling to attend the same school in accordance with District Administrative Rule JBCD-R. This provision attempts to address siblings enrolled in different schools at the same time due to an approved transfer. A sibling is defined as a brother, sister, step-brother, or step-sister living in the same household and who otherwise meets the requirements for enrollment.  The application window for the 2018-2019 school year will be open from January 4, 2018 through January 31, 2018.

For more information about this opportunity, and for a link to the online application, visit: http://www.cobbk12.org/generalinfo/transfers/schoolchoice.aspx

Parent Survey

Georgia Parent Survey

 Please click link:  http://gshs.gadoe.org/parents

The Georgia Parent Survey is also modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for anlysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.

School Information

Please visit Lost and Found for missing coats, jackets, caps, and other items.  Lost and Found is located in the hallway behind the cafeteria stage.  Unclaimed items are donated to MUST Ministries on the last school day of each month.

Due to numerous peanut allergies, Smyrna Elementary is a peanut-sensitive school. We ask that parents not send any food items or snacks containing peanuts or peanut products. Our cafeteria serves SunButter, a peanut-free, tree-nut free alternative.
