Sprayberry Accomplishments

Niche recently released their 2016 rankings of over 17,000 schools, and Sprayberry is proud to be counted among the top 100 schools in the state of Georgia.  Their ranking takes into account such factors as academics, quality of teachers, school resources, student life, and both student and parent reviews.
U.S. News included Sprayberry in their 2013 list of Best High Schools. The list evaluates schools on overall student performance on state-mandated assessments, as well as how effectively schools educated their black, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students. Performance on Advanced Placement exams was then used to determine the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work. Sprayberry was rated as one of the top 25 high schools in the state of Georgia.
In 2012, Atlanta magazine included Sprayberry in its list of the 50 Best Public High Schools in the metro area. For the first time, the magazine ranked schools on measures of college readiness, including SAT scores, graduation test scores, graduation rate, Advanced Placement testing, learning support and HOPE scholarship eligibility.
In 2015, the Washington Post  again included Sprayberry in its listing of America's Most Challenging High Schools.  The list is based on the Post's "Challenge Index," which looks at the total number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year and divides that number by the number of seniors who graduated in May or June.
Sprayberry received the Platinum Award from the Governor's Office for outstanding performance on Georgia's state tests.  In fact, Sprayberry was recognized for both "Greatest Gains" and "Highest Performance".
Sprayberry was named a 2011 Georgia School of Excellence.  The award recognizes those schools who have demonstrated the greatest continuous gains in student achievement for the past three years as measured by assessments in reading and mathematics. In addition to two previous National School of Excellence awards, this marks the 2nd time that Sprayberry has been honored with the Georgia award.
In 2010, Newsweek included Sprayberry in their list of America's Best High Schools.  According to the editors, the list was based on "...how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced-placement college-level courses and tests." They looked at data from nearly 27,000 high schools across the US, but only about 1,600 schools made the list.  Sprayberry is proud to be counted among them.
The Cobb County School District launched the Advanced Placement Certified Schools Program (APCS) in January 2004. Sprayberry is proud to be one of only a few schools who have attained the program's highest designation.

The Georgia Department of Education has consistently recognized Sprayberry as an AP Honors School in the following categories:
