Cobb County Schools are teaming up with the Cobb County
Public Library and Scholastic to help encourage summer
reading. Students will go to
www.scholastic.com/summer and log in the number of
minutes they read. We encourage students to read at least 20
minutes each day. Students were provided with a username and
password to login and record their minutes. There is also
information for parents and weekly sweepstakes.

Great Kindness Challenge
Students and staff at Tapp Middle School participated in a
one week challenge called the Great Kindness Challenge. They
were encouraged to perform at least 50 kind acts for others
including their peers, teachers, staff and family. Everyone
enjoyed making nice cards for each other, holding doors open
for one another, and expressing kind thoughts and sentiments
to one another. The kindness was truly contagious, and
students and staff reported an overall improvement in school
environment as they were working to complete the challenge.
Tapp students were interviewed by 11 Alive news about the
kindness challenge, and the school was given a proclamation
by the mayor of Powder Springs for our efforts.
