Grade 2: Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications; Health Science; Education and Training
Grade 3: Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Energy
Grade 4: STEM; Manufacturing; Business Management and Administration; Architecture and Construction
Grade 5: Finance; Information Technology; Marketing; Government and Public Administration

Parents of Rising 5th Graders!

Timber Ridge Elementary is looking forward to its second annual overnight educational field trip for fifth grade students.  The trip will be three days and two nights at Camp Jekyll 4H Center in Jekyll Island, Georgia, November 26-28th (immediately following Thanksgiving break).  This trip was a huge success this past year with Timber Ridge 5th grade students who learned so much in their three days at Jekyll!
While this seems a long way off, we wanted to let you know as soon as possible so you can begin to make plans accordingly.  This will help us get a head-start on planning the 5th grade trip for November 2018. The cost of the trip will be approximately $225-$275/student, which includes charter bus transportation, all activities, lodging and food. Please note that the school will make fundraising attempts in order to offset this cost.
A flyer went home in your student’s Thursday folder on 5/3/18.  Please review and return to school by May 18th.   If you cannot find the flyer, please download a copy here.

NEW Car Rider Guidelines

Timber Ridge Car Rider Guidelines

For the safety of our students and staff members, we ask all drivers to please follow the guidelines and all instructions given by Timber Ridge staff members.  We thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines.

General Rules for AM and PM car riders to keep the line MOVING:

  • Please pull up to the half-way point between the stop sign and Mr. Castle's office window.
  • NO PASSING/GOING AROUND OTHER CARS without direction from a staff member.
  • While using the crosswalk, please wait for direction to cross from a TRE staff member.
  • Students must enter and exit the vehicle on the curb side ONLY.  NO exceptions.
  • Students are encouraged to open and close their own car door.
  • Parents or other people in the vehicle should remain inside their vehicle at all times.  (Please do not get out and open/close the student's door.)
  • NO cell phone use by carpool drivers during pick-up/drop-off.
  • NO parking/drop-off at the bus entrance, just off Timber Ridge Road, or nearby neighborhoods.
  • Please have your child ready to exit the car when you stop.  (Backpack in hand, etc.)
  • Students need to be in their classroom before the 7:50 tardy bell or they will be counted tardy.
  • If you are picking up a child that is not yours, by car or a walker, please make sure that you have their Car Tag as well.

Afternoon Car Riders

The safety of your child is our number one priority.  Therefore, beginning the 2017-2018 school year, we will be implementing Car Rider tags.  Car Rider tags will be numbered and will hang on the rear-view mirror of your vehicle.  Each family will receive TWO numbered tags.  This number will follow you throughout your years here at Timber Ridge Elementary.  The expectation is that we will be asking for the return of Car Rider tags from FIFTH GRADE students, at the end of the year, who are oldest or only and will not have siblings at TRE, and from students who are transferring to another school or state.  **For security purposes, you are PROHIBITED from reproducing the Car Rider tag in any way.  In case of lost Car Rider tags, replacements will be $5.

If your child is walking home from school you will need to register for a Car Rider tag, even if they are walking with an adult.  If someone else is picking up your child, as a walker, please make sure they have your tag to show school personnel.  We will not release students to others without your tag.

During Meet and Greet on July 27th, you were asked to fill out a transportation form.  If you did not get this information, please contact your homeroom teacher.  Please begin using your tag on MONDAY, AUGUST 7TH

Please contact your homeroom teacher or Alexa Musto at Alexa.Musto@cobbk12.org with any questions regarding Car Rider tags.

Questions or concerns about traffic or car rider issues may be emailed to Jeffrey Castle at Jeffrey.Castle@cobbk12.org.

Changes to Bus Dismissal

In an effort to be more efficient with bus dismissal,  the county Transportation Department has changed the “color” designations for our buses. Most routes and drivers will remain the same, though we will be adding an additional bus. We will communicate to our teachers the color changes so that they may inform students the first day. We ask that you utilize the following link to ensure that you know who your child’s bus driver will be.

Timber Ridge Dismissal Updates

Student Early Dismissal: 1:45 p.m. is the latest time a student may be picked up for an early dismissal. Parents must sign the student out in the front office.

Dismissal Changes: Changes to a student’s normal transportation at dismissal must be made no later than 1:45 p.m. the day of the change. A signed note from the parent is required to make a change. Please include date, teacher and student’s full name. Emails to the teacher or office are not accepted for changes You may use this form to make any changes.  We ask that fax requests should be kept at a minimum for last minute changes.  Please make sure to call the front office to ensure that your request has been received.

If your student will be going to ASP instead, that change can be done verbally and does not require a written note.  However, students must be registered for ASP before they can be placed in ASP.

Bus Passes: Due to our buses being at full capacity and safety regulations, passes are only accepted for a different stop on the student’s regular bus. We cannot allow students to ride a bus they are not assigned to. Please use the Transporation Change form above to make any bus changes.

Thank you for your cooperation!
