About
Tritt Elementary School

Our
beautiful and spacious school is located at 4435 Post Oak Tritt
Road in Marietta, GA, on a picturesque twenty-four acre site in
northeast Cobb County. Construction began in the fall of 1979
and was completed in the fall of 1980. Tritt opened in September
of 1980. The centrally air-conditioned and heated facility is
primarily of brick and houses kindergarten through fifth grade
students in self-contained classrooms. The building has several
structural advantages including a personnel services suite,
individual study rooms, storage rooms, teacher workrooms, a
spacious media center, and a clinic staffed by a nurse sponsored
by the PTA.
Tritt
Elementary School was named for Will Tritt (born February 1,
1887 - died February 12, 1955). Mr. Tritt was a lifelong
resident of the Tritt school area. He was a strong advocate of
public education. He served as a trustee for Mountain View
School from 1938 to 1945. He held a strong belief that the whole
purpose of learning should be to apply knowledge in new and
better ways toward the advancement of mankind. Mr. Tritt also
believed that the fabric of our lives depended upon a tight
interweaving of both knowledge and wisdom. We believe that the
educational foundation we provide for the children in our
community is consistent with the educational beliefs of Mr. Will
Tritt.
Tritt Elementary School is one of 66 elementary schools in the
Cobb County
School System.
Tritt provides educational instruction for children from
kindergarten through the fifth grade. Tritt is the feeder school
to
Hightower Trail Middle School for the
6th through 8th grades and
Pope High
School for 9th through 12th grades.
In 1991,
Tritt received the Georgia Association of Elementary School
Principals' School Bell Award for our accomplishments in
implementing programs in the area of global education. In 1992,
Tritt was selected as a National Talents Demonstration School
and was recognized by Cobb County School Board. In 1994, Tritt
was selected as one of ten Pay for Performance schools in
Georgia. In 2005, Tritt was certified as a National PTA School
of Excellence. Also, in 2005 Tritt
was a
Platinum Award Winner for Highest
Percentage in meeting and exceeding academic standards. In 2006,
Tritt was named a
